Security arrangements at the famous Tulja Bhawani temple in Tuljapur have been strengthened ahead of the festive season, with 116 personnel from the Maharashtra Security Force (MSF) deployed at the temple, officials said.
The temple, located in Maharashtra's Dharashiv district, witnesses the arrival of lakhs of devotees every year, particularly during festivals and extended holiday periods. The deployment is aimed at strengthening security and helping manage the large crowds expected during the upcoming festive season.
According to a release issued by the temple trust on Wednesday, 116 personnel from the Maharashtra Security Force have been deployed for security duties at the temple.
The MSF is a government security agency. The team deployed at Tulja Bhawani temple includes six officers, among them an inspector and four police sub-inspectors.
The additional security personnel will work in coordination with the local police and temple administration to ensure arrangements remain in place as the number of devotees increases during the festive period.
As part of the preparations, the MSF team conducted a route march through Tuljapur town on Tuesday.
Senior officials briefed the deployed personnel on various aspects of security management and crowd control. The briefing focused on maintaining close coordination with the police as well as the temple administration.
The team was also briefed about the religious practices followed at the temple and the security protocols to be observed during visits by VIPs.
Officials also shared details of previous experiences in handling the heavy influx of devotees during festivals and consecutive holidays.
The Tulja Bhawani temple is an important religious destination and attracts large numbers of devotees throughout the year. The expected increase in footfall during the festive season has prompted authorities to reinforce security arrangements in and around the temple.
The MSF personnel are expected to support existing security arrangements and coordinate with the police and temple authorities during periods of high visitor turnout.
The deployment comes ahead of the festive season, when crowd management and security become particularly important at major pilgrimage centres.
Authorities are therefore focusing on preparedness, coordination and maintaining security as lakhs of devotees are expected to visit the Tulja Bhawani temple in Tuljapur.
