A 26-year-old man died after a cement mixer trolley reportedly fell on him at a construction site on SVP Road, opposite Mirza Ghalib Market in Mumbai's Chandanwadi, on Wednesday evening.

According to Mumbai Police, the incident was reported by a citizen at 7.30 pm, after which local officers and medical personnel rushed to the spot. The injured victim, identified as Danish Arif Khan, was immediately taken to JJ Hospital, where doctors confirmed he was "brought dead".

Preliminary information suggests that the heavy cement mixer trolley toppled during ongoing construction activity. The police said an inquiry is underway to determine whether negligence or safety lapses led to the fatal mishap. Statements from workers and site supervisors are being recorded, officials added.

The body has been sent for postmortem, and the police are in the process of registering an accidental death report. The investigation is ongoing.
