In a bid to strengthen the security at Mumbai airport, the city police will install 30 new CCTV cameras at its domestic terminal in October


In a bid to strengthen the security at Mumbai airport, the city police will install 30 new CCTV cameras at its domestic terminal in October.

"The main control room will be at the city police headquarters. However, the senior police inspector of the airport police station will have access too," explained a city police official.

The cameras will be concentrated to install in the parking area and approach road near Sahar Road.

This will be done to have a continuity in tracking a criminal or a vehicle needed," explained an Airport Official.

The installation is part of the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's decision to put 6,000 CCTV, in Greater Mumbai.

Suresh Vedak, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Airport Division, said, "Pre-installation work has been completed and the spots have been identified."
