An 84-year-old businessman in Kalyan was on his way to work from home with a plastic carry bag that contained Rs 2.78 lakh. Little did he know that he would be robbed on his way there by two bike-borne men. The incident was captured on CCTV and a complaint has been registered at the Bazarpeth police station.

According to the police, the complainant, identified as Mahendra Vora resides in Kala Talao area and on Saturday, left home with the bag that has the money for daily expenses. At around 9.20 am, he was passing by the Shankar Rao Chowk in front of KDMC, when two men came from behind him on a bike and snatched away the bag. "We suspect the accused knew that the victim took cash with him daily and that he walked to the shop. So they struck him at the right time," said an official from Bazarpeth police station, adding, "A CCTV captured the whole incident so we are using it to trace the accused."
