Since heavy vehicles have been permanently banned on the now-repaired southbound stretch of the flyover, this will create a traffic jam on the service road leading to the Oberoi Mall junction
The Dindoshi flyover has finally opened all three southbound lanes for traffic. The caveat, however, is that only light vehicles shall be allowed on this stretch. This has again left people in the lurch, as the service road below the flyover, leading to the Oberoi Mall junction, will be jam-packed with heavy vehicles.

The flyover had been under repairs after cracks developed on its nine slabs on the southbound carriageway. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) had closed off the three lanes for carrying out repair work on the damaged slabs, causing a huge snarl below the flyover.
With heavy vehicles being banned on the flyover, motorists going to Film City and Goregaon (West) will still be stuck in jams. "The opening of all three lanes will help light vehicles, but going towards Goregaon (West) and Film City via the service road and Oberoi Mall junction will become difficult, as all heavy vehicles will take the service road and cause a traffic jam.
The situation may turn worse during monsoon," said an MSRDC source. One lane of the flyover was opened a few days ago, and the other two were opened yesterday, with a gantry being installed at the the bridge to bar heavy vehicles.
MSRDC says
Anita Pardeshi, chief executive engineer, MSRDC said, "Heavy vehicles have been permanently banned on this stretch. We have installed a gantry so as to prohibit these vehicles from using the patch of the bridge."
