Haffizuddin Abdul Hamid Ahmed and his team of 10 artisans travel from Noida to Mumbai every year to build effigies of Ravan, Kumbhakaran and Vibhishan ahead of Dussehra. They leave only after witnessing the Ravan Dahan at Chowpatty. mid-day’s Kirti Surve Parade brings you some glimpses of their day...

Effigies are created from bamboo, paper, rope and maida, all flammable material that will aid combustion during the Ravan Dahan. The artisans work at Shri Gita Bhavan Hari Mandir Sanatan Dharm Sabha, GTB, Sion
