Lalbaugcha Raja ollects Rs 1.37 crore in cash donations in two days (File pic)
The Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal has collected Rs 1.37 crore in cash donations during the first two days of Ganeshotsav 2026, along with nearly 293 grams of gold and more than 8.3 kg of silver offered by devotees.
The donation boxes at the Lalbaugcha Raja pandal were opened for the first time on the second day of the festival (September 15), with committee members overseeing the counting and processing of the offerings.
According to figures released by the mandal, devotees donated Rs 48.50 lakh in cash on September 15.
Of the total, Rs 27.50 lakh was collected through the stage donation box, while Rs 21 lakh was received through the queue donation box.
Devotees also offered 66.770 grams of gold and 2,806 grams of silver.
The cash collection increased significantly on the second day, with the mandal receiving Rs 88.90 lakh on September 16.
The stage donation box accounted for Rs 59.60 lakh, while Rs 29.30 lakh was collected through the queue donation box.
The second day also saw a substantial increase in precious metal offerings. Devotees donated 226.120 grams of gold and 5,516 grams of silver.
With the first two days' collections combined, the mandal has received Rs 1.37 crore in cash donations.
The total gold offering stands at 292.890 grams, while devotees have donated 8,322 grams of silverduring the first two days.
The committee also opened the specially designated gold and silver donation boxes. The offerings included gold and silver ornaments, diamond jewellery and garlands made from dollar notes.
The precious metal offerings were kept separately as part of the counting, verification and processing procedure.
Lalbaugcha Raja remains one of Mumbai's most prominent Ganeshotsav attractions and draws lakhs of devotees during the festival. Devotees from Mumbai as well as other parts of the country visit the pandal to offer prayers and seek blessings.
