A total of 6,436 idols were immersed across Mumbai on the seventh day of Ganeshotsav 2026, according to the civic body's immersion report issued up to 9 pm on Sunday.
The immersion process was carried out peacefully, with no untoward incident reported during the celebrations, officials said.
Of the total idols immersed, 6,127 were household Lord Ganesha idols, while 210 were Gauri idols.
The report also recorded the immersion of 99 sarvajanik (public) Ganesh idols.
The total number of idols immersed by 9 pm stood at 6,436.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) maintained arrangements for the smooth conduct of the immersion process across the city.

Ganesh mandals install large and decorated idols in temporary community pavilions, known as pandals, during the festival.
According to the officials, the following immersions were recorded till 9 pm on September 20.
- Sarvajanik (public) - 99
- Gharguti (household) - 6,127
- Gauri - 76
- Total - 6,436
According to different traditions, Ganesh idols are immersed on the one-and-a-half-day, third, fifth, sixth and seventh days, as well as on Anant Chaturdashi, the concluding day of the festival.
Ganeshotsav began on September 14 and will culminate on September 25, on Anant Chaturdashi. A large number of idols are expected to be immersed that day following colourful processions across the city.
The Mumbai civic administration has arranged immersion facilities at designated sites, including artificial ponds, across Mumbai. The civic body has also put in place arrangements to manage the movement of devotees and ensure the smooth conduct of immersion activities during the festival.
Meanwhile, BMC Ashwini Bhide on Wednesday reviewed preparations for Ganesh idol immersion at Swarajyabhoomi (Chowpatty) in Girgaon and Dadar, directing officials to give priority to devotees' safety, civic facilities and environmental protection, an official statement said.
During the inspection, Bhide directed officials to ensure that observation towers, rafts, nirmalya (floral offerings) collection bins and steel plates laid along immersion routes remained in good condition.
She also instructed officials to provide an adequate number of rafts based on crowd levels and requirements at each immersion site.
Officials were directed to ensure sufficient lighting and drinking water facilities for Lord Ganesha devotees.
