Pooja (name changed) boarded the Godavari Express from Bihar and reached the city yesterday at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Kurla.

Job hunt
The Kurla GRP who found her said that the girl kept asking people at the station for a job.

"One of our officials spotted her at the station asking others for a job. She seemed quite desperate. Our official then asked a lady constable to calm her down, but our efforts were in vain. She refused to listen and kept repeating that she wanted to stay here and not return to her home. We then took her to the police station," said an official.

Move to Mumbai
Senior Inspector Shivaji Dhumal, Kurla GRP said that the girl mentioned in her police statement that her parents had died a few years ago.
After their death, she stayed in Samastipur in Bihar with her uncle and aunt.

"The girl said that her aunt and uncle were harassing her and forcing her to do many tiring household chores," Dhumal said adding that the girl had overheard on TV how easy it was to find a job in Mumbai and hence, decided to flee to the big city to get away from her relatives.

Dhumal added that the girl would be sent to Mankhurd children's home on Monday while they tried to locate her relatives.u00a0
