Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has appointed top Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Brijesh Singh as the head of the state’s information and publicity department


Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has appointed top Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Brijesh Singh as the head of the state's information and publicity department. mid-day had reported this on May 14. Singh, who will be the first IPS officer to hold this post, is expected to take charge on June 18.

The Inspector General of Police, Singh is currently heading the state's newly-created Cyber and Crime against Women Cell at Mantralaya and will also be the director general, information and publicity (DGIPR). The CM's move is aimed at revamping the department and making it more tech-savvy, which is one of Singh's strengths.
