The Maharashtra government on Monday effected a minor bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring three Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and assigning them new responsibilities.
According to an official order issued by the General Administration Department, senior IAS officer P Velrasu (2002 batch) has been posted as additional metropolitan commissioner of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). The move modifies an earlier order issued on June 16, under which Velrasu, then chief executive officer (CEO) of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), had been transferred as secretary (forest) in the Revenue and Forest Department.
Dr Sanjeev Kumar (2003 batch), who was serving as chairman and managing director of the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (Mahatransco), has been appointed secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department at Mantralaya.
Meanwhile, Vikram Kumar (2004 batch), who was serving as additional metropolitan commissioner of MMRDA, has been posted as chairman and managing director of Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (Mahatransco), Mumbai.

In another key change, Dr Ashwini Joshi was shifted from the BMC, where she served as additional municipal commissioner, to MMRDA as additional metropolitan commissioner. Prajakta Verma was also appointed additional municipal commissioner of the BMC.
In another key change, Dr Kadambari Balkawade, commissioner (family welfare) and director of the National Health Mission (NHM), has been appointed development commissioner (industries).
