The Maharashtra government on Tuesday announced a major reshuffle of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, effecting transfers and new postings across several key departments and agencies, including the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), and the Maharashtra Forest Department.
Among the significant changes, Vijay Singhal, who was serving as vice-chairman and managing director (VCMD) of CIDCO, has been appointed officer on special duty (OSD) for the Dharavi Redevelopment Project in Mumbai.
Prajakta Verma has been posted as additional municipal commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), taking on a key administrative role in the city civic body.
P Velrasu, chief executive officer of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), has been transferred as secretary (forest) in the revenue and forest department.
Dr Ashwini Joshi has moved from BMC as additional municipal commissioner to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) as additional metropolitan commissioner.
Deependra Singh Kushwah has been appointed as the new CEO of MIDC, replacing Velrasu. Meanwhile, Ashwin Mudgal, formerly additional metropolitan commissioner at MMRDA, has been posted as vice-chairman and managing director (VCMD) of CIDCO.
In another key change, Dr Kadambari Balkawade, commissioner (family welfare) and director of the National Health Mission (NHM), has been appointed development commissioner (industries).
Sanjay Katkar, managing director of Maharashtra Information Technology Corporation, will now serve as commissioner (family welfare) and director of NHM.
The state government also announced postings for several younger IAS officers.
Zenith Chandra Donthula has been appointed chief executive officer of zilla parishad, Gondia, while Anay Navandar has been posted as CEO of zilla parishad, Akola.
Dr B Saravanan has been transferred as project officer, Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP), Kinwat, and assistant collector of Kinwat Sub-Division, Nanded.
Laghima Tiwari has been posted as project officer, ITDP Taloda, and assistant collector of Taloda Sub-Division, Nandurbar.
The transfer orders were issued by the Maharashtra government on Tuesday as part of its routine administrative restructuring aimed at strengthening governance and improving departmental efficiency.
