A massive fire broke out at a G+1 labour camp at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) Project Affected Persons (PAP) in Mulund East on Thursday, prompting the evacuation of all occupants from the premises. At least seven gas cylinders exploded during the incident, police said.
The labour camp was being used to accommodate construction workers engaged in the BMC PAP Project.
The fire is suspected to have started from a small fire at the site before spreading and leading to the explosion of gas cylinders, officials said.
All occupants of the labour camp were safely evacuated following the fire. No casualty or fatality has been reported so far.
Fire Brigade personnel are at the spot and fire-fighting operations are underway. Necessary arrangements have also been made at the site.

According to the civic officials, the blaze was reported at the site in Tata Nagar area of Mulund East in Mumbai on Thursday afternoon.
