In a tragic incident on Monday, a 15-year-old boy from Nehru Nagar committed suicide late in the night.

According to preliminary observations, the teenager may have committed suicide due to low marks a his SSC results. However Nehru Nagar police are still investigating the matter to ascertain the cause.

The boy Abhijeet Bansode, resident of Patra Chawl in Sable Nagar committed suicide by hanging himself at his home. His SSC result was declared on Monday and he had scored 45%.

"There is no suicide note found yet and no indication seen on his social media either. We are now in the process if taking statements from his family members and friends. The body has been taken to Rajawadi Hospital," said Pramod Khoparde, senior inspector at the Nehru Nagar police station.

Police received a call at 9.45pm on Monday. "The boy hanged himself with a duppata on the mezzanine floor of their house. We have registered Accidental Death Report as of now while the investigation is on," said Khoparde.
