Mumbai: 18-year-old injured in cylinder blast on boat near Versova jetty

An 18-year-old youth sustained burn injuries after a cooking gas cylinder reportedly exploded on a boat near Versova Jetty in Andheri on Sunday afternoon, officials said.

According to information received from BDBA Hospital, the incident was reported around 1 pm. The blast occurred while cooking was underway on the boat at the jetty.

The injured person has been identified as Kuldeep Nishad (18), who suffered around 45 per cent burn injuries in the explosion. He was rushed to BDBA Hospital for treatment.

Doctors said the youth has been admitted and his condition is currently stable, according to Dr Nilesh Jadhav from the hospital.
