Anshu's mother, Farida Venkat, filed a missing person complaint at the DB Marg Police Station (Lamington Road) on September 29. Anshu, who is a drummer and music producer, did not have his phone or wallet and was recovering from Dengue.

Farida added, "We are now expanding the search across the city, with the same intensity as in Grant Road." A police source stated, "We are going through hours of footage. Our investigation is ongoing. I cannot say more at this stage." Farida Venkat vouched for the police, saying they are "doing a thorough, brilliant job."
