A Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) bus rolled forward and crashed into the Switch Mobility office at Colaba Depot, Mumbai, on Saturday evening after the driver allegedly failed to apply the hand brake. No injuries were reported in the incident.

According to the BEST undertaking, the incident occurred at 5.10 pm at Colaba Depot.

The bus, operating on Route A-361/21 from Anik Depot, was parked adjacent to the body shop near the Switch Mobility office when it moved forward unintentionally as the hand brake had not been applied by the driver.

The moving bus rammed into the entrance of the Switch Mobility office, damaging the office door. The impact also shattered the front windscreen of the bus.

The bus was being driven by a BEST driver and had a conductor on board at the time of the incident.

No person was injured in the accident, officials said.

Mumbai: Six injured after BEST bus crashes into divider at Powai

Six passengers were left injured after a BEST bus crashed into a road divider at Mumbai's Powai Vihar Sankul on Thursday afternoon, police said.

According to officials, the incident took place around 12.45 pm and was reported to the authorities at 1.50 pm after a citizen alerted them.

Preliminary information suggests that the BEST bus driver noticed a car approaching from the left side. While his attention was focused on the car, the bus veered and collided with a divider on the right side of the road.

The impact of the collision left six passengers with minor injuries. Acting swiftly, the bus conductor shifted all the injured passengers to Paramount Hospital in Sakinaka for treatment.

According to the hospital, all six passengers were treated on an outpatient basis and later discharged.

While the authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Fortunately, none of the passengers in the bus suffered major injuries.
