The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday issued a public advisory urging citizens to stay away from the seashores as high tides are expected for three consecutive days between December 4 and 7, 2025.
According to BMC's Disaster Management Department, waves higher than 4.5 metres will hit the Mumbai coastline during the period.
The highest tide is expected on December 6, 2025, at 12:39 am, when waves may reach up to 5.03 metres.
The Mumbai civic body has warned people, especially those visiting the city during Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's Mahaparinirvan Din, to take special precautions near the sea at places like Chaityabhoomi and Shivaji Park.
The BMC has also asked residents to follow all safety instructions issued by the civic administration and the Mumbai Police. Citizens have been advised not to go close to the coastline during the tide timings due to the risk of strong waves and possible accidents.

- Thursday, December 4 - 11:52 p.m. - 4.96 metres
- Friday, 5 December - 11:30 a.m. - 4.14 metres
- Saturday, 6 December - 12:39 a.m. - 5.03 metres
- Saturday, 6 December - 12:20 p.m. - 4.17 metres
- Sunday, 7 December - 1:27 a.m. - 5.01 metres
- Sunday, 7 December - 1:10 p.m. - 4.15 metres
The BMC has appealed to the public to act responsibly and avoid entering or going near the sea during the high tide period to ensure their safety.
