CSMT redevelopment: CR extends traffic and power block till July 8, trains to terminate at Dadar and Thane

Central Railway has extended the ongoing traffic and power block at Platforms 16 and 17 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) as part of the station's major redevelopment project being carried out by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA).

The block, which was initially introduced on February 1, 2026, and subsequently extended multiple times, will now remain in force until July 8, 2026.

Railway officials said essential foundation and infrastructure works are currently underway at Platforms 16 and 17 as part of the landmark redevelopment of Mumbai's iconic railway terminus.

The project aims to modernise station infrastructure and improve passenger facilities while preserving the heritage character of the historic station.

Several trains to continue terminating at Dadar

Due to the ongoing work, several long-distance Mail and Express trains that normally terminate at CSMT will continue to be short-terminated at Dadar Railway Station.

The affected trains include:

- Howrah-CSMT Express (Train No. 12810)

- Bhubaneswar-CSMT Konark Express (Train No. 11020)

- Ballarshah-CSMT Nandigram Express (Train No. 11002)

- Amravati-CSMT Express (Train No. 12112)

- Bidar-CSMT Express (Train No. 22144)

- Latur-CSMT Express (Train No. 22108)

- Madgaon-CSMT Tejas Express (Train No. 22120)

The revised arrangement will remain in place for journeys commencing between mid-June and early July.

Mangaluru Express to Terminate at Thane

Meanwhile, the Mangaluru-CSMT Express (Train No. 12134) will continue to terminate at Thane Railway Station instead of CSMT during the block period.
