In a major crackdown on traffic rule violators, the Mumbai traffic police registered 442 cases of drunk driving and 23 cases of underage driving on Friday and Saturday. This intensified enforcement came after a tragic incident involving a minor in Mazgaon, where a 35-year-old man lost his life.
In a similar incident in Pune a few days back, the son of a builder, a minor, was also involved in a drunk driving accident which claimed the lives of two individuals. This incident saw people on various social media platforms demanding justice for the two deceased.
M Ramkumar, additional commissioner of police (traffic) told mid-day, "In a major crackdown after the incident, we conducted a drive across Mumbai and registered 23 cases involving minors driving and 442 cases of drunk driving."
