The GRP have detained Sandeep Shambu Shete, 38, a resident of Tank Road in Bhandup. The incident came to light when Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena leader Pritam Jadhav, who also takes a morning train from Bhandup, received complaints about a man taking pictures of female commuters. He accordingly laid a trap, and caught hold of Shete when he was in the midst of the act near the ladies compartment. Jadhav, along with a few fellow commuters took Shete to the Kurla GRP police station. "We found around 400 pictures of several women on his phone" said Jadhav.
"We have charged him for behaving indecently in public. He was produced before a local court that levied a fine on him," said police sub inspector Arvind Jadhav of Kurla GRP. The police said as they were no complainants , the accused was only charged with Bombay Police Act and let go.
