The Powai police on Friday arrested a 21-year-old man for allegedly molesting and pushing a 4-month pregnant woman after she did not smile at him.
According to the police, a few years ago, the accused Wasim Khan had sent a marriage proposal to the woman, but she rejected it and married another man. The two used to reside in the same locality.
"On Friday, the woman came to her mother's house and went to the market in the evening. When the accused saw her, he gave her a smile, but she did not smile back and neither did she pay any heed. This angered the accused and he approached victim and molested her. He also pushed her to the ground and the woman was injured," a police officer from Powai police station said.
