Central Railway to operate night traffic and power blocks between Palasdhari and Khopoli for two months from September 18

Central Railway's Mumbai Division will operate special traffic and power blocks between Palasdhari and Khopoli for two months to carry out TSR work from September 18, an official statement said on Wednesday.

The blocks will be implemented every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, starting from the night of September 18-19, 2026, Central Railway said in a press release issued on Wednesday.

The special traffic and power blocks will be in force from 1.30 am to 4.30 am on the specified days.

The blocks will cover the Palasdhari-Khopoli section and will continue for a period of two months.

During the block, suburban train services between Palasdhari and Khopoli will not be available.

Khopoli local services affected

Central Railway said the following services will be cancelled or short-terminated during the block:

- The Khopoli-Karjat local departing Khopoli at 12.30 am will remain cancelled.

- The CSMT-Khopoli local departing CSMT at 11.18 pm on Wednesday will be short-terminated at Karjat.

Last and first locals

Railway authorities have also announced the last and first services before and after the block.

- The last local before the block for Khopoli will be the CSMT-Khopoli local departing CSMT at 10.57 pm.

- The last local before the block from Khopoli will be the Khopoli-Karjat local departing Khopoli at 11.20 pm.

- After the block, the first local for Khopoli will be the Karjat-Khopoli local departing Karjat at 5.43 am.

- The first local from Khopoli will be the Khopoli-CSMT local departing Khopoli at 4.50 am.

Railway appeals to passengers

Central Railway said the maintenance blocks are necessary for infrastructure upkeep and passenger safety.

Passengers have been requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused during the maintenance work.

CR completes 8.5-hr block for Pune Yard track upgrade

Meanwhile, in an another statement, Central Railway on Tuesday said that it has successfully upgraded a 52 kg Diamond Layout to 60 kg at Pune Yard, marking another step towards strengthening railway infrastructure and improving operational safety.

An eight-hour-30-minute mega block was carried out for the work. The block was scheduled from 8.15 am to 5 pm, but was completed and cleared at 4.45 pm, 15 minutes ahead of schedule, it said.

The work was completed on September 13, 2026, and is the fifth 52 kg Diamond Layout in Pune Yard to be converted to 60 kg.
