A BEST bus ferrying passengers in Andheri East sports a timely motivational message for the city's rainy days
It is a long way from Mumbai to the Midlands of England, but the first pre-season game of Birmingham City Football Club last weekend saw the city make a representation. With Barcelona visiting, former Dombivlikar Tejas Deshmukh carried the familiar motif of The Gateway of India in the Catalan club colours to the game at St Andrews.

"It was first designed in 2018 by Pratik Korgaonkar, who has been part of our club since we began. We were hoping to use an Indian connection, but since the National Flag colours are not to be used with any other flag, we decided to use the Gateway of India. What better icon to showcase Mumbai?" shared FCB Mumbai co-founder, Sagar Shinde. Unfortunately, the Catalan club lost the game on penalties. We'd prefer to attribute that to the presence of a certain Jude Bellingham in the stands.

"A local celebrity who meets eager patrons subject to availability," as the café staff describes him, Zane's big day coincided with the café's fourth anniversary.

Ribbons and balloons were in order, and an art corner saw pet parents get their furry friends sketched. We learnt the café also introduced a cocktail menu to celebrate. Well, cheers to Zane.

This diarist had to pinch himself when DJ Krunal Ghorpade's âOrkut request' landed in his inbox last weekend. The déjà vu was courtesy Ghorpade's quirky idea to recreate the defunct social platform's homepage to connect with his fans. "I am a computer engineering graduate, and I love coding when I'm not making music. When I released my new album Fakta House on July 31, I wanted to bring the two worlds together," he told us.
The interactive page comes with the nostalgic scrapbook, friends list, and communities sections. The DJ might have taken some creative liberty, we suspect.
