If you thought you'd heard the best of Boman Irani after his rendition of Frank Sinatra's My Way went viral last week, you're wrong. Recently, a select few who had gathered at Adenwalla Baug in Tardeo for a private celebration were witness to the actor's musical prowess. From the Bee Gees's version of Words, to John Denver's Annie's Song, the actor was on a roll, we heard. "The event was supposed to be a quiet, slow celebration. But Boman sir amped up the whole vibe," revealed Willie Pereira, whose group Band24 was performing at the soirée. Did they have to get Irani up to speed before the show went on? "Not at all. He is an excellent singer with an exceptional vocal range. As musicians, we have some tricks of the trades that only fellow musicians understand. Boman sir appeared to already know all the secrets," Pereira added. Quite the Chhupa Rustom, if you ask us.
The new season will bring a new destination for cafe hoppers in Bandra. A few days ago, the popular cafe, MOKAI, announced plans to shutter their Chapel Road venue to move to a new space. "Since the old space needed renovation anyway, the call was taken to move operations for the time being, and get the team accustomed to working in a larger environment while the necessary fixes at the original location are completed," revealed founder Karrena Bulchandani. Coffee lovers need not worry though. The cafe will stay in the suburb with a âlarger, experience-driven' space that will open on March 19. "The emphasis will remain on the experience, the food, and the overall offering," Bulchandani told us.
Trust Indian cricket fans to pull all strings this Sunday, including some adorned with the desi powers of limbu-mirchi to reverse the Indian cricket team's recent run at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Following the unforgettable upset at the 2024 ODI World Cup against Australia, and the recent loss to South Africa, the Internet is flooding with memes of anxious fans warding away the supposed jinx ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup final in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Our favourite is a spirited fan who performed a full purification ritual of an image of the stadium on his screen. This diarist may be a sceptic but with a final on the line, everything goes.
