Mumbai's women's cricket fan community, Bucket Hat Cult heads to Perth to cheer for India's women cricketers for their Test match against Australia from March 6 to 9. "We'll also join football fan community, Fem Blue for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup games for matches on March 4 and 7; for the latter games, we'll be in Stand S121, row A to C," Akshay Dutia, founding member, Bucket Hat Cult, revealed.

Electronic music geeks are in for a treat next Saturday, with the popular Slingshot Festival of Music and Electronic Art making its India debut in the city. The tech-meets-music roster features special acts like MC Yallah from Uganda and German robotics engineer and musician Moritz Simon Geist. Those frustrated with Mumbai's poor Air Quality Index (AQI) will find a kindred spirit in Sia Khandelwal (below). The owner of a textile crafts studio named Silchi has been stitching the AQI into a canvas measuring 4x4, using data from the website, AirVisual. "Living in Mumbai, air pollution is something we're constantly aware of, but something we normalise. I work with the day's average AQI for Mumbai. I'm not sure what the end product is going to be, but right now, it's more about the process. It's a good way to spotlight the problem, because there is no other way to help solve it," she shared with this diarist.

Sarmaya Arts Foundation is set to release a book on February 12 tracing the history of the Rupee, titled, Odyssey of the Rupee: From India to the World.

"It contains a collection of essays about how the Rupee was minted beyond India, mainly during colonial periods, from parts of East Africa to Indonesia, and about its future as a currency," Paul Abraham, founder, Sarmaya Arts Foundation, told us.
