Bandra and Khar's streets will once again turn into a cultural playground as 3ArtHouse readies the second edition of The Neighbourhood Festival (TNF). Expanding from three venues last year to 10-12 this year, the festival promises a larger line-up of music, comedy, cinema, and conversations.

"We're building it larger and more layered festival, but still keeping it personal," said co-founder Banat Kaur Bagga, adding that the festival aims to celebrate "the neighbourhood, not just as a place, but as a living, breathing community." Despite its bigger scale, TNF will retain its intimate venue format, encouraging visitors to discover local culture.

I had only two days to create it," recalled Saurabh Singh Rawat, a metal sculptor and owner of MetalBender Studios in Andheri. As a lifelong Christopher Nolan fan, Rawat was among a select group invited to attend the Mumbai premiere of The Odyssey on July 11 and 12.

Racing against time, he created a handcrafted Corinthian helmet using 3D printing, synthetic hair for the crest, followed by sanding and painting. "When I realised I had only two days to make this as a fan tribute for the director, we got to work," he added. The effort paid off when Nolan broke into a grin and said, "This is pretty cool what you have here," before posing with the helmet.

The Common Fruit Piercer (Eudocima phalonia) and Golden-striped Hawkmoth (Theretra lycetus) are among the many moths that emerge with the monsoon, quietly sustaining ecosystems after dark.

To celebrate National Moth Week from July 18 to 26, the iNaturewatch Foundation will invite nature enthusiasts to raise their first moth caterpillar at home through a specially designed rearing kit on July 18 and 19.

"Moths do not need sympathy or extra attention - they need to be better understood," said founder Dr V Shubhalaxmi. Participants will document each stage of a moth's life cycle, while a caterpillar rearing competition offers winners a copy of the Field Guide to Indian Moths.

This diarist was chuffed to spot a desi name, beyond the battery of cricketers and bevvy of Bollywood stars that had descended over the past two weeks to watch proceedings at Wimbledon. At Saturday's Ladies' Singles Final presentation, the Princess of Wales, Kate, patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, presented the trophies to runner-up, Karolina Muchova and winner, Linda Noskova on Centre Court. Alongside was club chairwoman Deborah Jevans and President of the Lawn Tennis Association, Roy Colabawalla.
That's when our radar was alerted. Soon enough, Zoroastrian community platforms on social media were abuzz, lauding âaapro Roy's' elevation on the world's classiest tennis stage. The partner and head of the corporate team at Birmingham law firm Sydney Mitchell, was appointed youngest president in Lawn Tennis Association earlier this year and hence, had earned this honour. Colabawalla was back on Centre Court on Sunday, in the Royal Box, and later, on court when Princess Kate handed over the trophies for the Men's Singles final to Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev, respectively. Kudos to Colabawalla for a Roy-al entry!
