At a time when the entire nation faces security threats every single day, citizens are becoming more and more alert. Any suspicious movement awakens that lingering sense of fear in them. One such person on Wednesday helped trace three fake police vehicles. The cars were being used for a film's shooting without requisite permission.
On Sunday, while Miraj Mahale, resident of Kherwadi, was waiting for a taxi on Western Express Highway, he spotted three police vehicles moving in the area. Sensing something suspicious he clicked photographs of the vehicles and approached Kherwadi police station. The vehicles - a white Scorpio, white Gypsy and an Audi - had fake number plates.
After taking a look at the photographs, senior police inspector Sujata Patil of Kherwadi police station started investigating the matter. A cop said, "We checked the CCTV footages of the traffic control room. We even asked the protection control department whether there was any VIP movement in the area." The cop further said, "After checking all records of the RTO we found out about the owner of the vehicles. The cars had been hired for shooting of the movie 'Waja Tum Ho', which is being directed by Vishal Pandya. All the vehicles had fake number plates."
Police filed a case against three accused Shuvankar Ghosh, Raj Bindal and Manpreet Singh Chaddha, who works as an associate director for T-series. Patil said, "We have registered a case under section 171 and 188 of IPC."
