A fire broke out at a building in Mumbai's Kurla area after gas pipeline leak, officials said on Wednesday afternoon, adding that no injuries were reported in the incident.

The blaze was reported at the Mubarak Building, a ground-plus-four structure located behind the LIG Colony in Vinoba Bhave Nagar, Kurla (West), they said.

"Fire erupted on the ground floor of Mubarak building due to a Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) gas pipeline leak. The fire brigade rushed to the spot as soon as they were informed," said an official.

The incident was reported at 1:23 pm by the BMC's Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), said the officials.

According to officials, the fire started on the ground floor due to a leakage in an MGL gas pipeline. The MFB declared the incident as a Level 1 (minor) fire at 1:29 pm.

Emergency teams, including the MFB, police, MGL gas staff, a 108 ambulance, and ward staff, were immediately mobilised to the site.
