A fire broke out in a Shivshahi State Transport bus on Dr BA Road, opposite Matunga Police Station in Mumbai, on Saturday evening.

According to officials from the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), the incident was reported at around 6 pm, and the fire was brought under control by 6.36 pm.

Around 30 to 40 passengers were safely evacuated from the vehicle, and no injuries were reported, MFB said.

The blaze was confined to the bus, and the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Firefighters and police personnel were present at the spot, ensuring the situation was contained swiftly.
