Passengers flying from Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport experienced delays on Saturday after a third-party data network outage affected the airport's check-in systems, sources said.
"The server was down for sometime and the issue was sorted," said sources.
The disruption impacted flight departures of several airlines, including Air India. The airline confirmed that the technical issue has now been resolved, but warned that some delays may still continue as operations return to normal.
In a post on X, Air India said, "A third-party data network outage had impacted check-in systems at Mumbai airport, thereby delaying flight departures of airlines, including Air India. The systems have since been restored, however, some of our flights may continue to be affected for some time as the situation normalises progressively."
The airline has advised passengers to check the latest status of their flights before travelling to the airport.
Further details are awaited.
