A Bandra court on April 15 remanded a 42-year-old IT professional, Jaikumar Kishore Bidichandani, to judicial custody after five days of police custody in a case filed by a 29-year-old woman at Mahim police station. He is accused of creating fake profiles in her name on pornographic websites and misusing her personal and business details.
Police have booked him under Sections 67 and 67(A) of the IT Act, along with charges of sexual harassment, stalking, outraging modesty, and defamation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
This is the fourth time Bidichandani has been arrested in cases involving the same complainant. Advocate Joshua Abhay Patnigere, representing the woman, told the court that "the accused has repeatedly created fake profiles in her name, as well as those of her business and family members, uploading them on pornographic platforms along with personal details like mobile numbers." Adv. Patnigere argued that the accused has followed a consistent pattern and that custodial interrogation is warranted to recover concealed evidence. The court had then remanded the accused to police custody.
The accused met her at a Bandra satsang and began harassing her after she rejected him. Despite earlier arrest and bail, she again received obscene emails, prompting fresh investigation.
