Mumbai local train updates: Titwala block to affect Central Railway services from Sept 2; details here

Central Railway will operate the second phase of a 15-day special traffic and power block at Titwala in Maharashtra's Thane district from midnight of September 2-3 to midnight of September 8-9, as part of work to extend the platform to accommodate 15-car suburban rakes.

The 15-day special traffic and power block is being operated from the midnight of August 28-29 to the midnight of September 11-12, with blocks of five to six hours every midnight.

The second phase of the block will be imposed from the midnight of September 2-3 to the midnight of September 8-9, from 12 am to 5 am each night, on the UP and DOWN North-East lines.

Mumbai suburban network services affected

All Titwala-bound suburban services will be extended to Asangaon, while all services originating from Titwala will originate from Asangaon until the midnight of September 11-12.

On September 2-3 and from September 4-5 to September 8-9, suburban services will not be available between Titwala and Kasara during the block period.

The following DOWN services will be cancelled:

• CSMT-Titwala locals departing CSMT at 10 pm and 10.50 pm
• CSMT-Kurla locals departing CSMT at 10 am and 8.41 pm
• CSMT-Kasara locals departing CSMT at 10.47 pm and 12.08 am
• CSMT-Thane local departing CSMT at 8.08 am
• Thane-Titwala local departing Thane at 5.35 am
• Kurla-Kalyan local departing Kurla at 5.59 pm

The railway administration said the blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety and requested passengers to bear with the inconvenience caused.
