Central Railway will operate an 11-day special traffic block at Mumbai's Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) from August 4 to 14 for various infrastructure works, including construction and modification activities in the yard.

The block will be in effect from 8 am on August 4 to 8 am on August 14 and will facilitate balance works related to the construction of a shunting neck, modification of sick siding and maintenance siding yards, extension of pit lines in maintenance sidings, and diversion of water supply, drainage and storm water lines.

The affected lines include the sick collection line, washing pit lines 6, 7, and 8, stabling line no 5, and C&W sick lines 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Due to the block, the following trains will be short terminated at Thane:

Train no 12154 Rani Kamlapati-LTT Express for its journey commencing on August 7.

Train no 16346 Thiruvananthapuram-LTT Netravati Express for journeys commencing from August 3 to 13.

Central Railway stated that the traffic blocks are essential for infrastructure upgradation and safety improvements.

Passengers have been advised to take note of the changes and plan their journeys accordingly.

CR to operate mega block on its Main and Harbour Lines on August 2

Central Railway, while sharing Mumbai local train updates, on Friday that it will operate a mega block on Sunday, August 2, 2026, on its Main Line and the Harbour Line.

An official statement said that the block will be operated to carry out essential engineering and maintenance work on the Mumbai suburban network.

The block will affect services on both the Main Line and the Harbour Line, with several trains being diverted, delayed or suspended, it said.

Railway officials said that the maintenance work is necessary to ensure the safety and reliability of the suburban railway network.

Main Line fast services to be diverted

A mega block will be carried out on the up and down fast lines between Matunga and Mulund stations from 11.05 am to 3.45 pm.

During the block, down fast trains leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 10.36 am and 3.10 pm will run on the slow line between Matunga and Mulund, stopping at all scheduled stations before returning to the fast corridor beyond Mulund. These services are expected to arrive around 15 minutes behind schedule.

Similarly, up fast services departing Thane between 11.03 am and 3.38 pm will also be diverted onto the slow line between Mulund and Matunga before rejoining the fast line, resulting in delays of approximately 15 minutes.
