A minor fire broke out at Churchgate railway station in south Mumbai on Wednesday at around 5:30 pm, officials said.
A spokesperson for Western Railway confirmed that the fire was caused by a short circuit and was first noticed by a Government Railway Police (GRP) official at the station.
The blaze was extinguished within a few minutes, and there were no injuries reported.
The train operations continued without any disruption, the spokesperson added.
The quick response ensured that the incident did not affect commuters or station services.
