The disruption led to crowding at Marol station.
Peak-hour services on Mumbai Metro-1 (Blue Line) were disrupted on Monday evening due to a technical snag in one of the trains.
"There were winding queues at Marol station, which led to a chaotic situation. The trains are already crowded with only four coaches, and such problems cause the crowds to burst at their seams," said Dhaval Shah of Lokhandwala Oshiwara Citizens' Association (LOCA).
"I was at the station and it was so crowded that I did not realise where the queue started. It was very difficult," said another commuter.
Mumbai Metro-1 officials confirmed the development.
"A technical issue in one of the trains at Ghatkopar, resulted in overall service delay. Operations regularised within eight to 10 minutes," an official said.
