Mumbai metro lines 2A and 7 record over three lakh passengers in just three days

The data shared by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) shows that on the first day -- January 20 -- there were 84,929 passengers who boarded metro from the new lines

In the first three days -- from January 20 to January 22 -- 3,47,921 passengers boarded metro after the newly launched Mumbai metro lines were made operational for general public on Friday.

The data shared by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) shows that on the first day -- January 20 -- there were 84,929 passengers who boarded metro from the new lines. On the second day -- January 21 -- it rose to 1,29,476 passengers, and on the third day -- January 22 -- it recorded 1,33,516 passengers.

Mumbai metro lines 2A and 7, worth around Rs 12,600 crore was flagged off by PM Modi on Thursday. The metro line 2A connecting Dahisar E and DN Nagar (yellow line) is around 18.6 km long, while metro line 7 connecting Andheri E - Dahisar E (red line) is around 16.5 km long. The Prime Minister had laid the foundation stone of these lines in 2015.

Here is the complete schedule of the two metro lines:

First Train:

Dahanukarwadi to Gundavali: 5.25 am
Dahanukarwadi to Andheri (West): 5.50 am
Andheri (West) to Gundavali: 5.55 am
Gundavali to Andheri (West): 6.00 am
Dahisar (East) to Andheri (West): 6.34 am
Dahisar (East) to Gundavali: 05.43 am

Andheri (West) to Gundavali: 9.22 pm
Gundavali to Andheri (West): 9:22 pm

Gundavali to Dahanukarwadi: 10:09 pm
