A woman was rescued from the deep waters near Marine Drive in south Mumbai on Thursday afternoon after a wireless distress call alerted the South Regional Police, officials said.
The incident occurred around 2 pm when police received information that a woman had entered the sea and required immediate assistance.
Officers from Marine Drive Police Station, including Police Constable Chavan, Constable Kadam, PSI Tadvi, and personnel from the L&O Platoon, rushed to the scene.
They successfully pulled the woman out of the water and brought her to the police station for further care.
The woman sustained injuries to her feet and was subsequently taken to GT Hospital in Mumbai for medical examination by female police personnel. Authorities are investigating why she entered the sea.
Police have also launched efforts to locate the woman's relatives and ensure her safety.
