Heavy rainfall overnight on Tuesday and in the early hours of Wednesday caused a portion of the road at Dadar TT Circle to cave in on the left turn towards Wadala. The damaged patch was only a few inches deep and located near the footpath, helping motorists avoid major trouble. Locals said two-wheeler riders were most affected as they usually take the narrower turn along the footpath.
A traffic policeman told this newspaper, "We have been on duty since around 3 am and have not seen any accidents. The repair was done so quickly that it became difficult to identify the damaged spot," he said.

mid-day contacted the BMC's F North ward to check whether permanent repairs would be carried out, but received no response till press time.
Around 350 metres from the damaged road, a tree fell at the start of Swami Gyan Jivandas Marg in the early hours of Wednesday.

"There is nothing left to be salvaged in my car. Luckily, it was insured. I am relieved that my driver escaped without major injuries. He has hurt his shoulder and gone to the doctor," said owner Vinod Bhosle.
"By the time I got to my shop at 9-9.15 am, the patch had already caved in. We were shocked that just one night's rain could cause this," said Dinesh Parmar, who owns a tailoring shop nearby. After locals alerted civic authorities, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) workers arrived at around 10.30-11 am, and temporarily repaired the damaged stretch.
A shop worker, requesting anonymity, said he hit the damaged patch while riding to work early in the morning. "It was a sudden jolt, and I lost balance for a second," he said. The rider escaped unhurt and said the incident was a reminder to drive cautiously during the monsoon.
