Brihanmumbai Municipal Commissioner (BMC) and District Election Officer Ashwini Bhide on Tuesday has urged eligible voters, including first-time voters, to submit the necessary applications within the revised deadline.
The Election Commission has extended the deadline till October 26. The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on November 16, 2026.
The draft electoral rolls for the state were published on August 31, 2026. The period for submitting claims and objections, initially scheduled to run from August 31, has now been extended to October 26.
The deadline for filing claims and objections to the draft electoral roll published under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists in Mumbai has been extended for the eligible voters, an official statement said.
The extension has been granted by the Election Commission under the revised schedule. The final electoral roll will be published on November 16, as previously scheduled.
The draft voter list was published on August 31, 2026, as part of the SIR exercise covering Mumbai city and its suburbs.
Eligible citizens can submit claims to include their names in the electoral roll, seek corrections to existing voter details and file objections to entries in the draft list until October 26.
The BMC has urged eligible citizens and first-time voters to take note of the revised deadline and submit the necessary applications and claims within the stipulated period.
According to the revised schedule, the notice stage and the process of deciding claims and objections will be carried out between August 31 and November 10, 2026.
The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on November 16.
The SIR exercise is being carried out across the Brihanmumbai Municipal area, covering both Mumbai city and the suburbs, under the guidance of Ashwini Bhide.
Bhide appealed to eligible voters to use the extended period to submit the required forms and supporting claims.
The extension gives voters additional time to check their details in the draft electoral roll and seek inclusion or corrections before the final list is published.
