The Andheri traffic police launched a crackdown on errant autorickshaw drivers and other vehicles outside Andheri railway station on Tuesday, with the drive continuing from the early morning well into the afternoon.
A senior traffic police official said around 450 autorickshaw drivers were penalised for various traffic violations during the drive on Tuesday.
The action was aimed at keeping traffic movement around the busy railway station in check and taking action against motorists and autorickshaw drivers found violating traffic rules.
