Mumbai University on Friday announced the revival of its 'Student-Vice-Chancellor Dialogue' initiative, aimed at resolving student grievances quickly and providing a direct platform for students to raise academic and administrative concerns with senior university officials.
The programme, which has been running for several years, has been recognised as an effective way of addressing student complaints. The university said the initiative will be held on the first Wednesday of every month during the new academic year, an official statement said.
The first session of the academic year will take place on Tuesday, August 5, 2026, from 11 am to 12.30 pm at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Bhavan (New Examination Building) at the university's Vidyanagari campus, officials said.
The session will be attended by Vice-Chancellor Prof Ravindra Kulkarni, Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr Ajay Bhamre, Registrar Dr Prasad Karande, Director of the Board of Examinations and Evaluation Dr Pooja Raundale, along with other senior university officials.
The university said the initiative has been designed to give students direct access to the administration, enabling them to discuss issues related to their education and receive timely assistance.
Students can raise concerns relating to examination results, withheld or reserved results, revaluation requests, photocopies of answer sheets, mark sheets, eligibility certificates, degree certificates, and other academic and administrative matters.
Many student grievances have already been resolved through previous editions of the programme, the official statement said.
Mumbai University said the programme forms part of its NEP Connect initiative, which has been introduced in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The initiative aims to promote student-centred, transparent and accountable governance while creating greater awareness about the opportunities and reforms introduced under the national education policy.
The university said it remains committed to providing faster, more transparent and student-friendly services by encouraging regular interaction between students and the administration.
Students wishing to participate in the session have been asked to carry their university identity card along with a written grievance application to facilitate quicker resolution of their concerns, the statement said.
