Mumbai and its suburbs witnessed mainly clear skies on Thursday morning, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The weather department has forecast a maximum temperature of around 35 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius for the day, indicating warm and humid conditions across the city.
Mumbai's overall air quality remained in the 'satisfactory' category on Thursday, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 79, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board's Sameer App.
Several monitoring stations across the city also recorded satisfactory AQI levels.
Bandra Kurla Complex recorded an AQI of 124, while Borivali East stood at 71. Byculla reported an AQI of 58 and Andheri East recorded 87.
Chembur registered an AQI of 66, Colaba recorded 55, Ghatkopar stood at 80, and Kandivali reported an AQI of 64.
In the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Thane recorded an AQI of 86, while Kalyan reported 97. Navi Mumbai registered an AQI of 83. All three locations continued to remain in the âsatisfactory' category.
Overall, weather and air quality conditions across Mumbai and adjoining areas remained stable, with no major concerns reported.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and Raigad districts over the next four days, forecasting hot and humid conditions in isolated pockets, even as parts of the state are likely to witness rain and thunderstorms.
According to the IMD bulletin issued at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region will experience hot and humid weather until Saturday, with dry conditions expected on Sunday.
In Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg, hot and humid conditions are likely with the possibility of light rain or thundershowers during the afternoon or evening on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, moderate rainfall and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are expected at isolated places on Thursday and Friday.
Parts of the Western Ghats, including Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, and Pune districts, are also likely to witness thunderstorms with lightning, moderate rainfall and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) at isolated locations on these two days.
