The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a generally cloudy sky with the possibility of moderate rainfall in Mumbai and its suburbs on Thursday, July 30, indicating continued monsoon activity across the city.
According to the IMD's 8 am weather bulletin, the city recorded light rainfall over the past 24 hours.
The Colaba observatory registered 1.4 mm of rainfall with a minimum temperature of 27.3 degrees Celsius, while the Santacruz observatory recorded 1.1 mm of rainfall and a minimum temperature of 27.4 degrees Celsius.
The average rainfall recorded between 8 am on July 29 and 8 am on July 30 stood at 1.23 mm in the city, 2.29 mm in the Eastern suburbs and 0.55 mm in the Western suburbs.
The IMD has also issued the following tidal forecast for Mumbai:
High tide: 12:46 pm - 4.25 metres
Next high tide (July 31): 12:42 am - 3.83 metres
Low tide: 6:49 pm - 1.62 metres
Next low tide (July 31): 6:24 am - 0.74 metres
Authorities have advised citizens to remain cautious in low-lying areas during periods of moderate rainfall and high tide, as monsoon conditions continue over the city.
Meanwhile, the water stock in Mumbai's seven lakes, which supply drinking water to the city, witnessed a marginal rise on Thursday, with live storage increasing to 12,80,786 million litres (ML), or 88.49 per cent of the total live storage capacity of 14,47,363 ML, according to data released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) Hydraulic Engineer's Department on Thursday, July 30.
On Thursday, the city's reservoirs collectively held 12,76,079 ML, or 88.17 per cent of their live storage capacity. The latest figures indicate an increase of 4,707 ML, with storage rising by 0.32 percentage points over the past 24 hours.

Among the seven reservoirs, Modak Sagar and Vihar remain at 100 per cent capacity, while Tulsi is at 99.66 per cent, Tansa at 98.57 per cent, Middle Vaitarna at 88.32 per cent, Bhatsa at 86.64 per cent, and Upper Vaitarna at 79.70 per cent.
Upper Vaitarna recorded the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours with 42 mm, followed by Middle Vaitarna (24 mm), Bhatsa (23 mm), Modak Sagar (18 mm), Tansa (2 mm) and Vihar (2 mm). Tulsi did not receive any rainfall during the period.
