Mumbai is likely to see partly cloudy skies with light rain in the city and suburbs on Thursday, according to the latest weather forecast issued at 8 am.
The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to be around 26 degrees Celsius.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that Mumbai and Thane may receive light to moderate rainfall during the day.
The city will witness a high tide of 3.28 metres at 3.12 pm, followed by a low tide of 1.34 metres at 8.59 pm.
Mumbai recorded light rainfall between 8 am on September 16 and 8 am on September 17.
The average rainfall recorded during the 24-hour period was 0.26 mm in the Central region, 0.59 mm in the eastern suburbs and 0.42 mm in the western suburbs.
The latest forecast indicates that Mumbai will continue to experience a mix of cloudy conditions and intermittent rain through the day.
Elsewhere in India, Uttar Pradesh is likely to see a gradual decline in rainfall as the southwest monsoon begins withdrawing from the state, with conditions expected to turn dry across the region from September 22, according to the state weather department.
A monsoon trough extending from a low-pressure area centred over Saurashtra and the adjoining northeast Arabian Sea through Bikaner, Churu, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Patna, Ranchi and Kolkata to the northeast Bay of Bengal is currently influencing weather conditions across Uttar Pradesh, according to IMD officials.
Eastern and southern parts of the state received light to moderate rainfall on Wednesday due to moisture being transported from the Arabian Sea under the influence of the trough.
Rainfall activity is expected to gradually decrease in western Uttar Pradesh from September 20 and across the entire state from September 22 as the monsoon begins to withdraw.
According to weather data, Uttar Pradesh received 1.8 mm of rainfall on Wednesday against the normal 6.1 mm, recording a 71 per cent deficit.
Between June 1 and September 16, the state received 669.3 mm of rainfall against the normal 698.1 mm, resulting in a four per cent deficit.
Eastern Uttar Pradesh recorded 1.6 mm of rainfall against the normal 6.6 mm on Wednesday. Its cumulative rainfall during the monsoon season stood at 670 mm against the normal 740.9 mm, a 10 per cent deficit.
Western Uttar Pradesh received 2 mm of rainfall against the normal 5.2 mm on Wednesday. However, its cumulative monsoon rainfall stood at 668.3 mm against the normal 638.1 mm, making it five per cent above normal.
Several places recorded significant rainfall on Wednesday. Prayagraj received 29.9 mm, while Kanpur IAF and Hamirpur recorded 19.0 mm each. Churk recorded 5.6 mm and Bahraich 3.2 mm.
In Lucknow, the maximum temperature on Wednesday was 34.6 degrees Celsius, 1.2 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was 26.4 degrees Celsius, 1.7 degrees above normal.
Barabanki and Agra recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 36 degrees Celsius, while Najibabad recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 22.5 degrees Celsius.
