Mumbai and its suburbs are likely to experience generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain on Tuesday, according to the latest weather forecast.
Mumbai recorded rainfall across the city and suburbs during the 24-hour period ending at 8 am on August 18.
The average rainfall recorded was 7.98 mm in the city, 17.34 mm in the eastern suburbs and 16.64 mm in the western suburbs.
The eastern and western suburbs received more rain than the island city during the period.
The next high tide is expected at 3:27 pm on August 18, when the tide is forecast to reach 3.81 metres. An earlier high tide occurred at 4:06 am on August 19, reaching 3.55 metres.
The next low tide is expected at 9:24 pm on August 18, with the tide likely to fall to 1.18 metres. An earlier low tide was recorded at 9:31 am on August 19, at 2.27 metres.
Residents in low-lying areas are advised to remain alert during periods of heavy rainfall and high tide, particularly where waterlogging is possible.
Meanwhile, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 27.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, 1.3 degrees above normal, as the weather office forecast a generally cloudy sky with light rain at isolated places later in the day.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature at Palam was 25.4 degrees Celsius, 0.8 degrees below normal, while Lodi Road recorded 27.6 degrees Celsius, 1.6 degrees above normal.
The Ridge recorded a minimum of 24 degrees Celsius, 0.9 degrees below normal, and Ayanagar recorded 27.4 degrees Celsius, 2.3 degrees above normal.
The IMD said the maximum temperature is expected to stand at 33 degrees Celsius.
The air quality in the national capital at 9 am stood at 98 in the "satisfactory" category.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered "good", 51 and 100 "satisfactory", 101 and 200 "moderate", 201 and 300 "poor", 301 and 400 "very poor", and 401 and 500 "severe".
