Mumbai is likely to experience partly cloudy skies with occasional spells of light rain in the city and suburbs on Saturday, according to the weather forecast issued at 8 am.
Between 8 am on August 21 and 8 am on August 22, Mumbai recorded an average rainfall of 1.84 mm. The eastern suburbs received 5.43 mm, while the western suburbs recorded 3.43 mm during the period.
The city will experience a high tide of 3.12 metres at 8:26 am, followed by another high tide of 2.71 metres at 7:03 pm.
A low tide of 2.61 metres is expected at 2:55 pm, while the next low tide is forecast at 1:49 am on August 23, when the tide is expected to reach 1.67 metres.
Meanwhile, Delhi-NCR woke up to light to moderate rainfall on Saturday morning, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting continued showers across the region over the next 24 hours.
The weather is expected to remain unsettled throughout the day, with generally cloudy skies and intermittent light to moderate rainfall in several parts of the national Capital and its adjoining areas.
The IMD has also warned of isolated heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in Delhi-NCR on Saturday. Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad may experience intense spells of rain, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at some locations.
According to the latest weather forecast, Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh are likely to receive heavy rainfall at isolated places. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds are also likely over parts of the region.
The weather alert for Delhi-NCR is part of a broader forecast covering several states across the country. Heavy to very heavy rainfall has been predicted in parts of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. Several northeastern states are also expected to witness significant rainfall activity.
Konkan and Goa, Gujarat and Rajasthan may receive heavy showers, while parts of southern India, including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, are also likely to experience widespread rainfall. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds have been forecast for several of these regions, with active monsoon conditions expected to continue across the country until August 27.
