Mumbai and its suburbs are likely to experience partly cloudy skies on Wednesday, with one or two spells of very light rain possible during the day, according to the latest weather update.
The forecast was issued at 8 am, with no major spell of rainfall expected across the city and suburbs.
A high tide of 4.11 metres is expected at 1.36 pm on Wednesday. Another high tide of 4.39 metres is forecast at 2.36 am on October 1.
Residents in low-lying areas and those travelling along the coastline have been advised to remain alert during the high-tide periods, particularly if rainfall intensifies.
A low tide of 0.34 metres is expected at 7.45 pm on Wednesday. Another low tide of 1.63 metres is forecast at 8.18 am on October 1.
Mumbai recorded varying amounts of rainfall across its three administrative regions during the 24-hour period ending at 8 am on Wednesday.
The city recorded an average of 3.14 mm of rainfall, while the eastern suburbs received 20.75 mm. The western suburbs recorded 17.62 mm during the same period.
The eastern suburbs therefore recorded the highest average rainfall among the three regions.
With partly cloudy conditions expected to continue, the possibility of one or two spells of very light rain remains during the day. No significant rainfall activity has been indicated in the latest forecast for Mumbai and its suburbs.
Meanwhile, Delhi-NCR is likely to witness a significant shift in weather from Wednesday, with the recent spell of rain and thunderstorms expected to give way to predominantly dry conditions.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast mainly clear skies over the national capital and neighbouring areas, with dry weather likely to prevail across Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh through the first week of October.
The change comes after showers on Tuesday brought a noticeable chill to Delhi, with temperatures briefly giving the national capital a winter-like feel. However, the latest weather forecast indicates that rainfall activity is likely to subside from Wednesday, particularly over northwest India.
Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and parts of Uttar Pradesh are expected to remain largely dry as the recent rain and thunderstorm activity weakens. Delhi is likely to record a minimum temperature of around 24 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of nearly 33 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
While northwest India is expected to remain mostly dry, weather conditions across the rest of the country are likely to remain varied. Rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue over parts of southern, eastern and northeastern India.
