Partly cloudy conditions continued across Mumbai on Sunday, November 1, with no rainfall recorded in either the island city or its suburbs, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

As per the IMD's latest weather update, Colaba recorded a minimum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, which was 1.7 degrees above normal. Meanwhile, the Santacruz weather station recorded a minimum temperature of 23.9 degrees Celsius, 1.6 degrees above normal.

The partly cloudy conditions are expected to keep the weather relatively warm across the city, with residents likely to experience some cloud cover through the day.

The IMD's weather observations for November 1 indicate that Mumbai continues to experience above-normal minimum temperatures despite the onset of November.

Dahanu sizzles at 35.7 degrees Celsius, highest in state

Dahanu reported the highest maximum temperature in Maharashtra at 35.7 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The weather across several parts of Maharashtra remained largely dry, with no rainfall recorded at most reporting stations. The IMD's daily weather bulletin stated that Pune is likely to witness mainly clear skies, becoming partly cloudy towards the afternoon or evening on Saturday. Light rain or thundershowers are expected in the Ghat areas of Pune.

Mumbai's AQI stands at 62

After Mumbai received a spell of showers in the last two days, the AQI levels across the city have dropped significantly. Mumbai's overall air quality index (AQI) was reported at 78 on Sunday morning, according to figures provided for the Central Pollution Control Board's SAMEER app.

Under India's national AQI classification, readings between 51 and 100 are categorised as satisfactory, while values from 101 to 200 fall in the moderate category. The citywide reading therefore remained in the satisfactory range.

However, several monitoring stations recorded AQI levels in the moderate category. Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) registered an AQI of 141, while Worli recorded an AQI of 102.

Other parts of the city reported lower readings. Sewri recorded an AQI of 71, while Ghatkopar stood at 65. Andheri registered 70, with all three readings remaining in the satisfactory category.

Thane's air quality in 'satisfactory' category

Air quality readings varied across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), with Thane recording an AQI of 72 on Sunday.

The reading placed Thane in the satisfactory category under the national classification. Navi Mumbai recorded an AQI of 95, while Kalyan registered 58, with both cities remaining in the satisfactory range.
