Teen student died, 12 students and teacher saved after slab collapse in Koparkhairane

A shocking incident occurred on Thursday evening around 5:20 pm at Vidya Bhavan Society, Plot No. 12, Sector 2 in Koparkhairane, Navi Mumbai. The slab of the first floor suddenly collapsed while a home tuition class was being conducted on the ground floor.

Upon receiving information about the incident, fire brigade teams from Vashi, Koparkhairane and Airoli rushed to the spot. The firefighters immediately began rescue operations and pulled out the students trapped under the debris.

The fire department safely rescued a total of 13 people, including 12 students and one teacher. Out of them, four to five students were admitted to hospital for primary treatment.

However, a 14-year-old student, Manish Mase, died during treatment, according to officials from the Vashi Municipal Hospital. The incident has left the local community in deep grief.
